Two young women told a jury about the last moments of their friend Laa Chol, who bled to death after being stabbed at a party in Melbourne.
Dahlia Ali told a Supreme Court jury on Tuesday that she came to the rescue of Chol after kicking and beating her & # 39; saw through gatecrashers, which she suspected had taken her cell phone.
Mrs. Ali recalls that she was trying to get the group of youngsters away from Mrs. Chol, who was beaten in the chest by a 17-year-old boy during a violent scam.

& # 39; Someone opened her coat and then I just saw blood, & # 39; said Mrs. Ali.
Another friend, Nyankor Joseph, told the court that she rushed to Chol & # 39; s and went looking for a wound & # 39; because I saw all the blood & # 39 ;.
& # 39; There was a lot of blood around her. She looked unconscious. She did not respond, & Joseph said.
& # 39; I lifted her shirt to try to put pressure on her wound. It was on the left side of her chest. & # 39;
Forensic pathologist Matthew Lynch said the knife was used with & # 39; at least moderate & # 39; force, which pierced the pocket around Mrs. Chol's heart and her right-hand valve.
Mrs. Chol died in the early hours of July 21 last year, in a city apartment that she and her friends rented through Airbnb with plans for a fun-filled weekend.
After fighting with the gatecrashers in the building's elevator lobby, she stumbled back to the apartment and collapsed, dying before paramedics arrived.
Dr. Lynch said Chol died of blood loss, including bleeding in the bag around her heart, causing heart failure.
She also had a superficial wound on her right hand, which could be a defensive wound, he added.
Under cross-examination by defender Sam Norton, Dr. Lynch agreed that when Chol was stabbed, others might not know how badly she had been injured.

Paramedic Damien Dambrosi said he arrived at 5.18 am to find Ms. Chol unconscious on the floor, & # 39; properly soaked & # 39; in blood.
He declared Mrs. Chol deceased at 5.30 am and found no pulse and & # 39; a complete flatline & # 39; after attaching defibrillator pads.
The murderer, who was 17 at the time and therefore cannot be legally named, is on trial for a murder attempt.
He asks the jury to condemn him instead of the lesser homicide crime and therefore get a shorter prison sentence, arguing that he did not intend to kill or seriously injure Chol.
The lawsuit will continue on Wednesday.
