Based on previous incidents, it is entirely plausible that his family will never be reunited with the bodies of their loved ones.

The bodies of a mother who committed suicide and her two children by jumping from Niagara Falls may never be recovered.

Chianti Means, 33, jumped over the railing on Luna Island on Monday night, with her two children, Roman, 9, and Mecca, four months.

Police said Wednesday that after thoroughly sweeping the area for days, search and rescue efforts were unsuccessful. DailyMail.com has contacted police for further comment.

Many of those who jumped to their deaths at Niagara Falls or fell by accident have never been recovered from the bottom of the waterfall, over which 3,610 tons of water rush every second.

Some are pushed away from the falls by its fierce currents, and one man who fell to his death was discovered 140 miles away in Lake Ontario years later.

Vincent C. Stack, of Buffalo, New York, disappeared at the state park in 1990 at the age of 40.

His remains were found in April 1992 and were said to be “heavily decomposed and mostly skeletal.”

After years of remaining unidentified, a DNA profile was found to “match DNA collected from his family.”

Police say his remains fell over the falls, before traveling 15 miles to the mouth of the river before moving 130 miles across Lake Ontario to the shores of Oswego.

In another case in 1981, the body of Hesham Sayegh, who was eleven months old, was never found after his mother threw him into rough waters.

His mother, Dunia Sayegh, was charged with involuntary manslaughter in his death, before the case was dismissed, according to a UPI History of 1982.

Means' friends say that

Means’ friends say they are “sorry he didn’t feel he could turn anywhere else.”

Since her death, previous Facebook posts she had made expressing her desire to return to her daughter’s father have resurfaced online.

Just days before jumping on the death of her and her children, Means marveled at her daughter, writing online that she was beautiful.

On October 14, Means mourned that she and her daughter’s father were no longer together.

Because I was a stupid pregnant bitch who swore up and down that I don’t want him,’ she wrote about the breakup. “I need all the positive energy I can get,” he said.

Several of Means’ friends have posted tributes on Facebook for the mother of two.

“You never really know what someone is going through… RIP,” Niesha Eukeya said.

“I can’t even write a post about her and share memories,” wrote Mich Molina.
