Australian fashion fans are racing to Big W to get their hands on a $30 version of the season’s “biggest trend”.
Big W’s $30 &me women’s side stripe pants are nearly identical to Australian luxury brand Bassike’s stripe-detail twill pants, which retail for $395.
Instagram account Kmartinsider She shared the exciting fashion find online: “It’s basic, but you’ll get a designer look. If you can’t spend nearly $400 on a designer, the Big W style is a solid option.”
The stylish &me women’s pants come in navy and black and feature a bold white stripe on the exterior – fans can’t get enough of this budget-friendly design.
“These pants are amazing for $30. I bought the navy one yesterday, now I have to run back to buy the black one. Big W have finally managed to make their womenswear more attractive,” said one woman.
“These pants are gorgeous. They fit true to size. The material has a lovely drape and is somewhat stretchy. I have the navy ones and am considering purchasing the black ones as well,” another shopper agreed.
The ‘unreal’ design comes in sizes 6-18 and has an easy stretch fit for a relaxed, stylish look.
Bassike’s Twill Pants are made from premium nylon and polyester, and while people love the quality, the price is out of reach for many Australians, especially in the current financial climate.

“These pants are amazing for $30. I bought the navy pair yesterday and now I have to buy the black ones again. Big W have finally made their womenswear look more attractive,” said one woman.
“The important thing about expensive models is the fabric. They are divine and of a luxurious quality, but of course, I will try these $30 ones,” said one woman.
“They’re surprisingly good! Definitely not luxury, but far from the shitty quality of Shein,” another agreed.
One woman said that wide-striped pants were not suitable for people with curvier bodies.
“They’re not good for girls with big butts, they’re a little small. I’m going to return mine. I normally wear size 14-16, but size 18 is too tight for me,” she said.
Another woman couldn’t believe people were pairing pants with heels and refused to embrace the sweatpants trend altogether.
“Not at all, not even the designer ones,” he said.
This isn’t the first time Big W has surprised Australians with its budget-friendly takes on luxury designer fashion.
