A man has been charged over an alleged domestic violence incident in Perth, where a woman was allegedly hit by a car before the driver crashed into a fence.

Police rushed to the scene near the intersection of Amherst Street and Blinco Street in Fremantle following reports of a collision on Saturday afternoon.

CCTV footage showed the car crashing into a fence moments after a woman was allegedly knocked down in the street.

The woman fell from the car which allegedly continued down the street before going over the sidewalk and crashing into the front fence of a nearby home.

A man and woman, both in their 20s, who know each other, are believed to have been involved in an altercation in the car before the incident, police said. Western Australia reported.

Margaret and John Siinmaa spent Sunday morning cleaning up the front yard where the red Mazda passed.

He was charged with a number of other offences, including theft of a motor vehicle and possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia.

Jack Dunkeld recalled how his girlfriend had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit by the car.

The next day, she was still in shock from the near accident.

The couple went to the end of the driveway to see what was happening after hearing a lot of honking and shouting.

“The woman fell right on the sidewalk when the car hit her,” Dunkeld recalled.

“Before we know it, it’s coming around the back of the driveway where we were standing, so unfortunately my girlfriend had to run out to avoid getting hit.”

Komboni was due to appear in court later on Sunday.
