Free on Steam & Epic: 6 cool games are free this weekend

Date:

At the weekend you can play Elder Scrolls Online and House Flipper for free, among other things.

Still not sure what you’re going to play over the holidays? Then there might be something for you among the currently free-to-play titles on Steam and Epic. This weekend you can try four games for free and keep one of them forever. We will introduce them to you briefly.

If there is nothing for you, the Steam sale is of course still the place to go. We have selected 15 of the best offers for you that are currently particularly worthwhile.

The Elder Scrolls Online sends you into the Daedric realms in the new gameplay trailer

The Elder Scrolls Online is now 8 years old but is still regularly updated with new content and continues to enjoy stable player numbers. If you’ve thought about exploring the world of Elder Scrolls online, perhaps with a friend, then now is a good opportunity.

But you can also play ESO well alone, as Sascha proved:

The MMORPG also offers a lot of content in the basic game: numerous quests, guilds, large areas and an exciting story await you in online Tamriel. As in other Elder Scrolls games, there’s a large sandbox where you can do whatever you want, as our 2016 post-test emphasized.

Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock – Conclusion & Gameplay: The game that deserves the series?

For fans of strategic space battles there is a free game to keep forever this weekend. Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock is based on the TV series of the same name that aired until 2009, but is set 60 years before the events of the latter.

Here you take control of the colonial fleet and defend your territories against the machines in the first Cylon War. You have the choice between many different ship types and officers, which you then send into pauseable real-time battles in single player. In multiplayer you then compete against other people.

House Flipper – Trailer for the renovation simulator & Steam hit

House Flipper lets you become the ultimate handyman, renovating, remodeling, and furnishing entire homes for clients (or for yourself). In first person, you will be sent on various jobs, most of which will require you to dispose of rubbish, clean, paint, set up pieces of furniture or do plumbing work. As the trailer shows, you sometimes grab a hammer and tear down entire walls.

The game is extremely popular on Steam and even landed on release in the Steam charts for a short time. Over the weekend you can now explore the fascination behind it yourself.

For free play (playable until April 10)

The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog

Sega has indulged in one of the best gaming April Fools’ pranks this year: the Murder of Sonic adventure is still available completely free on Steam. As the title suggests, you have to solve the cold-blooded murder of the blue hedgehog. On Steam, the game causes a storm of enthusiasm and is apparently also a lot of fun.

To the free game

By the way, you can read here what jokes publishers and developers made for the first of April this year:

PGA Tour 2K23

Behind the cryptic name is a golf simulation that lets you become a virtual master of the sport. As a professional player, you can real let off steam on licensed golf courses, or build your own courses with the course designer and share them with others. In multiplayer you also compete against other players.

On Steam, PGA Tour is currently only getting balanced ratings, among other things, technical problems, the online obligation in single player, monetization and design decisions are criticized. Of course, you can still give the title a chance for free.

For free play (playable until April 10)

Shapez

Epic is giving away a game for hobbyists and automation fans this week. In Shapez you have to create certain shapes from several parts. To do this, you let them run on conveyor belts through machines that rotate, color, cut or assemble parts. As the game progresses, you make more and more complicated shapes and at some point you build entire factories and gigantic production chains.
