Freddie Flintoff made a very risqué comment when an Indian tailor took an “unusual measurement” during the latest episode of Field Of Dreams.
In scenes shown on BBC One on Tuesday night, Flintoff, 46, was left feeling a little uncomfortable as he was fitted for new clothes.
In the second series, we see him lead a cricket team made up of working-class teenagers from Preston on a tour of India, coaching them on how to succeed in the sport while also transforming them into robust, compassionate young men.
Freddie and his young team were invited to attend a glitzy party hosted by the British Deputy High Commissioner in Calcutta, for which everyone had to wear formal evening attire.
They then headed to one of the most prestigious tailors in the city and all the boys had their suits made, plus one for Freddie himself.

And when the tailor knelt down to measure the inseam of his trousers, Freddie made a funny face.
The tailor told him to relax as he pulled out the measuring tape and said the length was “ten and a half” before after a few more seconds of measuring Freddie joked: “I didn’t think it was that big!”
Then he started laughing and when the staff nearby started noticing what was happening, they started laughing too.
Freddie once again won the hearts of viewers with the latest episode of Field of Dreams On Tour, which saw the former England captain helping two young autistic wards battle their anxiety in India.
He was seen helping young aspiring cricketers to be brave when they found themselves in awkward situations in Kolkata, being candid about his own anxiety issues.
Freddie convinced young Josh, who was apprehensive about traveling to the noisy Indian city, to go ahead with the tour and face his fears, and comforted his apprentice Finn after a glitzy dinner with important figures from West Bengal overwhelmed him.
Viewers took to social media to praise Freddie’s approach to comforting each of the youngsters, as he also shared his own fears over whether he had been ready to return to the show following an accident during filming of Top Gear in December 2022.
“If ‘Freddie’ Flintoff doesn’t get a BAFTA for this series, there will be no justice,” wrote one fan on X, formerly Twitter.

In one of the opening scenes of Tuesday’s episode, Freddie took his young charges to the busy markets of Calcutta; the cricketer found the sights, smells and sounds of the market overwhelming as he was mobbed for autographs.
But he wasn’t alone in feeling stunned: Josh, 20, who was diagnosed with autism as a child, admitted he was taken aback by the whole thing and was reconsidering whether he could make it to the end of the India tour.
Heartbreaking scenes showed him sitting alone as others practised cricket on the roof of his accommodation before Freddie checked on him and realised he didn’t seem to be enjoying the trip.
“What I don’t want is to keep someone here who doesn’t want to be here,” the cricketer tells him.
And while Josh admits he’s afraid to step out of his comfort zone, Flintoff replies: “If you take a weird risk here, I think it will definitely pay off. It’s just little things, but they make a big difference.”
The pair hug and Josh agrees to stay on tour, adding: “Wasting an opportunity like this would be foolish.”
Later, Freddie and his young charges attend a glitzy party hosted by the British Deputy High Commissioner in Calcutta, for which everyone is dressed in tuxedo.
The event was awkward for Finn, who left the venue because he said he felt out of place. A moment later he was joined by Freddie, who told him: “It’s all good.”
The cricketer added: “Your place is wherever you go. None of these people out there can tie your boots, mate. Every environment you go into, you do better.”
The scene ends with the couple heading back inside as Freddie makes room at the table for Finn to sit among his friends.
The scenes won praise from viewers for the compassionate way Freddie helped the young men without pushing them beyond their limits.
“I have so much respect for Josh for trying and taking on a new challenge in addition to his struggle with autism,” one X said.
Another, tweeting directly at Freddie, said: ‘I loved the conversations you had with Josh and Finn because I’m autistic and sometimes feel the same things as them when it comes to crowded places and formal occasions.
“It was nice to see you comforting and inspiring them in their struggles. You are a legend!”
A third user said: “My 7 year old son has autism. I’m scared to think what his life will be like but seeing you and your boys gives me hope. Just seeing love, understanding, compassion and friendship, I see a bright light in a dark world.”
Freddie had previously been praised for helping Josh start trying new foods, after the 20-year-old admitted he had only eaten one tub of Pringles since arriving in India.
Freddie was at the height of his second career in broadcasting after retiring from cricket when an open-top sports car he was driving for a Top Gear show overturned in December 2022.
The Morgan Super Three was reported to have been travelling at just 22mph when it overturned during filming, leaving Flintoff with serious facial injuries and broken ribs.
Filming of Top Gear has been suspended and the future of the show, which he presented alongside comedian Paddy McGuinness and motoring journalist Chris Harris, remains in doubt after it was suspended indefinitely last November.
And Freddie himself remained out of the public eye for months while he recovered from the accident, having first been seen in public almost a year ago helping to coach the England cricket team.
The BBC is believed to have paid him £9m compensation following the accident. The broadcaster has also apologised to the cricketer.
The second series of Field of Dreams, subtitled On Tour, began two weeks ago with the first look at Freddie’s injuries following the accident.
It began with images he had filmed himself on his mobile phone of his horrific facial injuries as he admitted he thought he was going to die.
In the episode, she said: “It’s been a week and a half since my accident. I honestly shouldn’t be here with what happened.”
He hugged Josh after the youngster admitted he was finding it difficult to adjust to life in Calcutta.
And he was able to console Finn, who said he felt out of place at a fancy dinner hosted by the British Deputy High Commissioner in Calcutta.
The second series began two weeks ago with never-before-seen footage of Freddie’s injuries following his Top Gear crash.

“It’s going to be a long road back and I’m just getting started and I’m already struggling and I need help. I really need it.”
When asked by one of the young cricketers accompanying him on tour if he is now 100 per cent fit, he replies: “Not really. I don’t know if I will be again, to be honest. I’m better than I was before.”
Speaking to the show, she said: “I thought I could just put it behind me. I wanted to put it behind me and say ‘I’m fine’ but it hasn’t been that way. It’s been a lot harder than I thought. As much as I wanted to go out and do things, I just haven’t been able to do it.”
