Oh no! One Tree Hill actress Sophia has been forced to cut her season short following a stay in hospital after suffering from illness since she fell ill in June.
A statement from the producers read: ‘Unfortunately, Sophia Bush had to withdraw from the production due to illness. We are delighted to welcome Frankie Bridge to the 2:22 family.
“Our talented understudies Gemma Yates and Allie Dart have been filling the role of Lauren in rotation. We are enormously grateful to them for stepping up so brilliantly. They will continue until Frankie starts.
Added Sophie Bush: “I’m really heartbroken that my time on 2:22 A Ghost Story has come to an unexpected and early end. I got sick with a virus in June and haven’t been able to get my body back to baseline.
“After weeks of being taken off stage intermittently, seeing multiple doctors and spending a night in the ER, I was informed by knowledgeable health care specialists that I needed to finish my time on stage and be under the care of my doctors back home in the US.
I owe a debt of gratitude to my incredible co-stars and to each member of our extraordinary company, which has quickly become family. It means a lot to me that so many fans traveled to London to see the show.
‘If you’re booked for future nights, please go out and support my brilliant co-stars. They will blow your mind! And I know that Frankie Bridge will be amazing in making Lauren hers for the rest of this run.
‘There is no greater experience than the stage. I miss him madly. I love him deeply. And I can’t wait for the next one.
Sophia played Brooke Davis on the CW drama One Tree Hill before landing roles on Chicago police and the medical drama Good Sam.

The new lineup: Frankie Bridge will perform at London’s Apollo Theater opposite Jaime Winstone, who plays Jenny, from August until the end of the run on September 17.
Upon joining the cast, Frankie shared the news on her Instagram, posting the promotional photos while saying, “I’ve loved 2:22 A Ghost Story ever since I first saw it, so landing the role of Lauren is a dream come true.”
“I’ve never done things by halves, it’s an honor to make my West End debut in such a smart and suspenseful production and I couldn’t be more excited to join a cast who have already made me feel like part of the family.”
She added in an official statement: ‘Lauren is a joy to play with so many layers and emotions to explore. I can’t wait for you to meet her!’
2:22 A Ghost Story follows Jenny, who believes her new home is haunted, but her husband Sam disagrees.
They argue with their first dinner guests, old friend Lauren and her new partner Ben. Belief and skepticism collide, so they agree to stay until 2:22 am.
Frankie went from being a pop star on The Saturdays to becoming an author and podcast host, joining ITV’s Loose Women as a panelist in 2020.
She was a finalist on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here and also danced her way to the semifinals of Strictly Come Dancing in 2014.
