Sluggish, inefficient, countered: Eintracht Frankfurt is still in crisis. The eleven of coach Oliver Glasner did not get more than 1: 1 (0: 1) against an effective Borussia Mönchengladbach and could slip out of the European Cup places for the first time since the beginning of October.
The Hessians have been waiting for a threesome for seven league games, and there were only two wins in the second half of the season.
Jonas Hofmann (13th) managed to lead the visitors early on, Randal Kolo Muani (83rd) saved the series of seven Bundesliga home games without defeat. The point was not enough for the vague European dreams of the table tenth from Gladbach, six points are missing on the seventh-placed SGE. Overall, the foals have been unbeaten for four games, but have been waiting for success abroad for five attempts.
Glasner had complained before the game that his team had gotten “in a negative mood” due to the result crisis and was going too “crazy”. “That’s why we didn’t have the efficiency and ease anymore,” explained the Austrian: “It’s the challenge to turn it around again.” This endeavor was made more difficult by the absence of Mario Götze (5th yellow) and the injured regular players Philipp Max, Evan Ndicka and Jesper Lindström.

Nevertheless, Eintracht started very enthusiastically in front of 50,000 spectators and took control of the game. But the ball relays were characterized by many inaccuracies, the uncertainty was palpable. For its part, Gladbach was lurking in wait for quick changeovers – and took the Hessians by surprise again and again. Marcus Thuram, who changed at the end of the season, unselfishly put across for Hofmann, who effortlessly pushed into the empty goal.
Glasner shook his head in consternation and then had to take out the injured Kristijan Jakic after fifteen minutes. As a result, the eleven from the Lower Rhine worked out more game shares, but like the SBU mostly combined in safe areas. The game went on for a long time, except for a deflected long-range shot from Djibril Sow (23′), which Jonas Omlin parried brilliantly in the guest goal.
In the last minutes of the first half, Frankfurt then increased the pressure again. Randal Kolo Muani (44th) failed free-standing from five meters, then Sebastian Rode (45th + 1) warped from the edge of the box.

However, the SGE could not save this momentum in the second round. Instead, one bad pass followed the next, a lot of it was based on coincidence.
At the back, Christopher Lenz saved with a sensational tackle from Florian Neuhaus, who was ready to shoot (52′). In the last 25 minutes, Frankfurt threw everything forward. Kolo Muani (75th) hit the post, Ebimbe failed in the margin.
But the equalizer was to come: Kolo Muani rewarded Eintracht for the great effort with an actually unplaced shot, which the previously outstanding Omlin let slip through.
