Frank Lampard “under increased control of the Chelsea hierarchy” with club heads surprised by his treatment of Kepa Arrizabalaga and fearing to miss the Champions League
Frank Lampard’s reports as Chelsea manager will be under increased threat if they do not qualify for next year’s Champions League.
The Blues have only won twice since Christmas Day and have seen their grip slip into fourth place with Tottenham, Sheffield United and Manchester United in the nick of time.
Chelsea was defeated by United on Monday-evening 2-0 and Lampard’s side served an abject performance that emphasized their recent struggles.
Frank Lampard’s position at Chelsea is threatened if they miss the top four
According to The Telegraph, the Chelsea hierarchy are now starting to ask questions about “Lampard’s management of his team.”
It is claimed that the current series of Chelsea home games, including United’s defeat and the arrivals of Tottenham and Bayern Munich in the next seven days, are considered crucial to the success of Lampard’s first season.
Although he had worked on the training field for two weeks, Chelsea again admitted soft goals. It is thought that a failure to correct their sloppy defense was also “harmful.”
It is also claimed that Chelsea bosses are surprised that Kepa Arrizabalaga was not recalled to the starting line-up for Monday night’s defeat after he had fallen due to some bad impressions.
