Fox News commentator Raymond Arroyo is under fire for claiming that Donald Trump’s new limited-edition sneakers will win the votes of black Americans.
The frequent ‘Ingraham Angle’ guest said during a panel over the weekend that Trump’s gold MAGA high-tops would help the former president attract the attention and support of black Americans who “love sneakers.”
Now that “black support for Joe Biden is eroding, this (sneakers) is connecting with black America, because they love sneakers,” Arroyo said on “The Big Weekend Show.” from Fox.
They like sneakers. “This is a big problem, certainly in the inner city,” he continued, adding that, in his view, Trump is reaching out to the black community “on a level that defies and is above politics.”
The limited-edition Trump high-tops sold for about $400 before selling out.
“Trump understands culture like no politician I’ve ever seen,” he concluded, noting that the striking shoes, which sold for about $400 before they sold out, reach the heart of black culture.
“So when Trump releases his sneaker line, they say, ‘Wait a minute, this is cool,'” he said.
Arroyo’s comments came under attack online, as many keyboard warriors labeled him as a racist who played into destructive stereotypes.
‘He’s basically saying that all black people are the same and love cheap, tacky sneakers. Call me crazy, but I think most humans of any color would rather own a pair of Jordans,” one X user wrote.
Another noted that Arroyo is like ‘completely unrelated‘ to the way his comments were racist.
‘Your assumptions about black people, suggesting that their political decisions are based on trivial or materialistic reasons, such as a love of sneakers, are inaccurate and disrespectful. “His simplistic stereotypes are inappropriate and offensive,” another user wrote.
A host of online commenters took the opportunity to mock Arroyo’s hairstyle; the majority opinion was that he looked like he was spray painted on his head.
Republican presidential candidate and former President Donald Trump holds a pair of his new line of signature shoes after taking the stage at Sneaker Con at the Philadelphia Convention Center on February 17, 2024 in Philadelphia.

However, on the contrary, Arroyo’s detractors, TMZ notesare the feelings of the popular rapper and YouTuber Peezywho expressed his support for the sneaker line to his impressive online audience.
In a recent video, the rapper clearly declared his political allegiance by saying, “Fuck Joe Biden, I’m rockin’ with Trump.”
He added a ‘F**k Kamala Harris’ so the audience was 100 percent clear where he stood.
Additionally, he put out a call to purchase a size 13 pair of the sold-out gold ‘Never Surrender’ sneakers, which it seems he would like to wear in support of his chosen 2024 candidate.
