A four-year-old boy who died after being hit by a car has been remembered as “the sweetest, most kind-hearted boy.”

Ace was hit by a Ford sedan on Glossop Street in North St Marys, in Sydney’s west, about 12.05pm on Monday.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated him at the scene but he died on the way to hospital.

The driver was taken to Nepean Hospital for mandatory testing and a crime scene was established.

A friend of Ace’s family released a GoFundMe hours after the incident to help his bereaved parents and older sister cover funeral expenses.

“Ace was the sweetest, biggest-hearted kid who loved playing with his cars and dinosaurs and spending time with the people he loved,” the fundraising page reads.

“His bright light will not be forgotten and the world seems darker without him.”

He added that Ace will be the first thing his family “thinks about when they wake up and the last thing they remember before they fall asleep.”

An investigation has been launched into the incident.

Video from the scene showed detectives at a blonde brick property on the street.

The accident occurred moments before another incident in which a 12-year-old boy was hit by a car in a driveway on Greenacre Road in Greenacre at 12:30 p.m.

He suffered leg injuries and lost blood and was rushed to Westmead Children’s Hospital in a stable condition.
