Three minors and one adult were injured in a horror drive-by shooting in San Antonio, Texas.
Law enforcement rushed to the scene around 2:10 p.m. Friday after reports of an ongoing shooting in the northeast of the city.
San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said the drive-by shooting was a targeted attack, with the intended victim apparently a male under the age of 18 who was hit by the gunfire.
McManus confirmed the other victims were a five-year-old boy, a 16-year-old boy and a 60-year-old woman, as he stressed the attack was “not random”.
A large police presence was seen gathered outside the scene, which occurred in the northeast area of San Antonio
The attack took place outside an apartment complex, where an unknown number of suspects allegedly drove into vehicles before unloading themselves on the victims and fleeing the scene.
The youngest child was inside the targeted vehicle when the assailant opened fire, while the others stood outside.
All four victims were taken to hospital after the attack, but no further updates on their condition have been released.
No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing, and it is unclear how many suspects were involved.
The police chief said after the attack that law enforcement had information about a suspicious vehicle, but declined to reveal any further details.
“Driving shots are always dangerous not only for the intended target, but also for other people in the line of fire,” McManus said.

The shooting broke out at Costa Biscaya apartments in San Antonio (pictured), which police say is not known as a problem area
“Unfortunately in this case there were three other people who were not the intended target.
“It wasn’t random…we’re talking to the intended target – who we believe is the intended target.”
The apartment complex, named Costa Biscaya, was ‘not on the radar’ of law enforcement as a problem area.
“Drive-bys can happen anywhere, it just depends on where the person the shooters are looking for – it just depends on where they are. It can happen anywhere,” McManus said.
