Everyone chases Verstappen
This season there is a clear favorite for the world title in Max Verstappen. The Dutchman currently leads the World Cup with 69 points ahead of team-mate Sergio Pérez, who has 54 points. Fernando Alonso follows in third place with 45 points ahead of Lewis Hamilton (38 pts) and Carlos Sainz (20 pts).

New Sprint format
Shortly before the weekend in Baku there was another change in the course of the weekend. From now on, the sprint will no longer determine the starting grid for Sunday, but will be counted as a separate race. This was decided by the World Motor Sport Council on Tuesday. The qualifying later in the afternoon also only determines the starting grid for the Grand Prix on Sunday. There will be a separate qualifying for the sprint on Saturday, the sprint shootout. The 2nd training, which was hardly used anyway, is omitted.

After a four-week break, it’s time for the next Formula 1 weekend. A full program awaits the teams in Baku, because the first sprint of the season is coming up. At 11:30 a.m. the only training is on the schedule!
