Former WWE Superstar Matt Riddle admitted to failing multiple cocaine tests prior to his departure from the company.
Riddle was released from the company in September, about a week after he claimed that an officer at JFK airport sexually assaulted him.
He recently returned to the ring making appearances in Major League Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling, where he was recently crowned NJPW TV World Champion.
During an appearance in MMA timeThe 38-year-old went into detail about his departure from WWE and revealed that he failed several drug tests after doing cocaine at a strip club.
Former WWE Superstar Matt Riddle Admits to Testing Positive for Cocaine
Riddle, who was recently crowned the New Japan Pro-Wrestling World Television Champion, was released by WWE in September.
‘No, they did not make any of the crimes public. “They wanted to keep it a secret and they punished me with a fine,” Riddle said.
“I went to the strip club and did cocaine a couple of times and failed the drug test. Well, that was it for all of them, it was cocaine every time.’
Riddle added that he failed two drug tests in a row after being tested for consecutive weeks, but after staying clean for a long period of time he thought he was in the clear before failing another random test after a night of partying, which which led the company to ask him to enter rehabilitation.
“I feel like the firing from WWE happened at the right time,” Riddle said.
“I’m not saying I won’t come back, and I’m not saying I won’t come back, there’s no argument about that, but at the same time, I just had another son, little Matthew, and with the WWE schedule, it’s a lot.”
Before being released from WWE along with other high-profile Superstars, Riddle had been placed on a tag team with Drew McIntyre for which the company had “major” plans.
Riddle announced his departure from WWE in a social media post in September.
Since being released, he also shed light on the fact that he was almost placed on a team with wrestling legend Jeff Hardy, but the latter did not feel comfortable being placed on a team that would have been known as the ‘Hardy Bros. ‘because of his good. -Known fame as a member of the Hardy Boyz.
Riddle had also won the WWE Tag Team Championships while partnering legendary superstar Randy Orton, and also held the United States title during his time with the company.
He previously revealed that he was originally supposed to win the 2022 Royal Rumble before Brock Lesnar overturned the decision.
