The former girlfriend of former AFL champion Josh Gibson has been bounced back by a shocking spinal cord injury that has left her in a wheelchair.
Olga Kononchuk is walking back after months of debilitating rehabilitation and is even planning to hit the road in Melbourne’s Run for the Kids next month – just over a year after she suffered horrific injuries in a boat accident.
During the fall on Stakes Day in 2018, Russian beauty was flown to the hospital with damage to vertebrae in her lower back.

She was limited to a wheelchair and had endured months of rehabilitation.
Even worse: the mother of two made headlines last month after her divorce with Gibson.
Gibson is a former AFL star who played for the North Melbourne Football Club and Hawthorn.
He gathered a large following on social media after his appearance on reality TV series: “I’m a celebrity … Get me out of here!”
Gibson and Mrs. Kononchuk had only been together for five months when she was taken to the hospital after the accident.
Just days after the split, Gibson made news again when he was seen flirting with a scantily clad DJ at an A-list polo event.
Kononchuk had a relationship with Gibson for almost two years before they suddenly broke up.
The pair kept their mouth shut about what led to the break, with Gibson declaring that he wanted to avoid the spotlight.
“I’m really focusing on putting my head down in the coming months,” he said.
Sources have told Daily Mail Australia that it was Gibson’s hectic lifestyle that made the couple go their own way.

Mrs. Kononchuk did not respond to Daily Mail Australia’s requests to chat, but friends have supported her comeback run.
On Thursday, supporters had already donated $ 1576 to its $ 5000 target, with an anonymous well-wisher donating more than $ 1000 of that total.
“I made this page because I want to make a difference,” Kononchuk told her financing page.
‘I am inspired by the work of Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal and wanted to support them … Thanks in advance for your generosity, it means a lot! I love Olga. “

Mrs. Kononchuk was regularly at the event before the crushing injury threatened to keep her from the track.
“You only live once, but if you do it right, it’s all you need,” she wrote on social media.
The glamorous socialite, whose Instagram page is littered with photos of her traveling the world in private jets and helicopters, seems to love life again after her break from party boy Gibson.
Just five days ago she posted a picture of herself enjoying a movie on Rippon Lea Estate with a new man under her wings.
“Friday night, movie night, date night,” she wrote.
Photos of her and Gibson in happier times remain on her page, along with photos of her jet-setting escapades around the world.
