Former University of Connecticut basketball player Rakim Lubin has died at age 28, according to a online obituary.

According to the obituary from Prestige Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Gadsden, Alabama, Lubin passed away on Sunday.

The cause of death was not indicated.

“We ask that you keep this family and those who may be going through the same thing uplifted in prayer,” the obituary said.

Lubin played the 2014-15 season at UConn before transferring to Cal State Northridge.
