Former Strictly Pro Ola Jordan has said Craig Revel Horwood should be sacked and replaced by a new judge with “more flavour”.
The dancer, 42, who starred in the BBC series from 2006 to 2015, admitted the show is becoming “too nice”.
He explained that Strictly “needs an update to remain attractive to audiences”, even if that means replacing the panel.
Speaking in an interview with Mecca BingoOla said: ‘I feel like Craig has lost his shine. People loved Craig for who he was before.
“He would say it like it is, saying it wasn’t good, that it was rubbish, but it’s almost like he has to say something positive now.”
“They’ve obviously told him they have to be positive and they don’t want any negativity on the show and that comes from the producers, but they need to see what the audience really wants.” It’s too pretty.
Former Strictly Pro Ola Jordan has said Craig Revel Horwood should be sacked and replaced by a new judge with “more flavour”.
The dancer, 42, who starred in the BBC series from 2006 to 2015, admitted the show is becoming “too nice and cozy” (Craig pictured).
He added: “They’re all the same every year, so maybe they need a new judge, someone with a little more flavor on the panel.” You could even have a different guest judge each week.’
Craig recently admitted that his ‘cutting comments’ from 20 years ago would now be considered ‘bullying’ and he would be canceled for saying them today.
Known for his no-nonsense critiques and sharp tongue, the veteran Strictly star shared that he has softened his approach as a judge on the entertainment show.
he said radio times: ‘I have changed my style of judging. I was very hard 20 years ago. When I look back, I think, “Oh, that’s cutting.” Now it would be considered harassment and then they would cancel me.’
Revel Horwood, 59, who has been on Strictly since its inception in 2004, is on the panel with Anton Du Beke, Motsi Mabuse and head judge Shirley Ballas.
He said his approach has shifted toward a more constructive style, where he thinks “more like a teacher than a judge.”
The choreographer, engaged to horticulturist Jonathan Myring, used to be “hard on people who couldn’t dance”.
‘I was very direct. I still say what’s wrong, but you can wrap the truth in a nice way.

He added: ‘I’m not there for your emotions. I don’t care how it affects them that way, because they need to learn and respect my opinion.’
His acidic assessments of the dance performance have led online trolls to send the judge death threats and abuse.
It comes as The Mail On Sunday revealed that the BBC, in an effort to attract younger viewers, is scripting some of the judges’ comments for the first time.
The move has not gone down well with the judges, with sources saying they complain that the script’s lines are “embarrassing”, “overproduced” and, at times, “distressing”.
Viewers have also noticed that Revel Horwood has been less abrasive in this series.
A Strictly source said: “The judges feel the comments they are asked to make seem overproduced.” It has been raised and is starting to cause a problem.’
