A former Florida Starbucks employee has infuriated TikTok users by admitting that he gave decaf coffee to unsuspecting customers — simply because he felt like it.
The ex-barista passing by @dolltin on TikTok, boasted that when he worked at Starbucks five years ago, he would punish rude customers by swapping their drink orders with decaf.
But he didn’t stop there — he also gave customers decaf because he “feel like it” or if he was annoyed by the way they pronounced the word “croissant.”

Tampering with orders: TikTok user @dolltin admitted he’d swap customers’ orders with decaf if they were rude, but also simply because he “feeling like it”
The controversy started with a video of another barista, who filmed herself laughing under the words ‘giving rude customers decaf espresso to start their day’.
Her video was reportedly well received before it was taken down, but when @dolltin stitched it together with his own video, things took a turn for the worse.
He said it was “100 percent true” that baristas will replace decaf with rude customers, but he did worse than that.
“I worked at Starbucks for two years. I decaf so many rude people. I would make people decaf if I felt like it,” he said.
He would also punish those who annoyed him, such as by pronouncing “croissant” as a Frenchman would.
‘If you’re French, if you have a French accent… come in and order a croissant [with a French accent], I’ll give you one. I’m not going to decaf you. But I worked in Florida,” he said.
Not the only one: The controversy started with a video of another barista, who filmed herself laughing under the words ‘giving rude customers decaf espresso to start their day’
He then impersonated someone who orders with a southern accent, but pronounces “croissant” as you would if you speak French.
“I don’t know what it was, but if you don’t have a French accent and you say ‘cwassan’… it wasn’t just me,” he said.
The video has garnered quite a few comments from commentators, who have reprimanded @dolltin for “just doing your job.”
“As someone who needs caffeine for medical issues, this makes me feel a little nauseous,” one wrote.
“Things like this scare me that what I order isn’t the stuff I get,” said another.
“Sounds like you shouldn’t have had your job,” wrote another.
Language Police: He also boasted he would punish decaf customers if they pronounced the word ‘croissant’ like a Frenchman would
“You could be risking someone’s life,” said another. “I drive a lot for a living and coffee is sometimes the only thing that keeps me alive.”
However, some commentators defended the TikToker, stressing that rude people deserved what he did.
The TikToker has also made several videos responding to the criticism, telling critics to “calm down baby” and noting, “You’re all stupid when you’re angry. It was a joke.’
He also tried to insist that there is no medical reason anyone should need caffeine, which questioned the commentators who said they got headaches without it.
It is, of course, very common for regular coffee drinkers to experience withdrawal symptoms such as headaches if they do not drink coffee for a day.
TikTok has since removed the original video.
