Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta believes Vieira can give his side extra creativity

Last week, another former presidential candidate, Fernando Rio, claimed that the transfer could jeopardize Porto manager Sergio Conceicao’s job.

Rio was disappointed that Porto accepted a fee for Vieira that was less than his release clause of around £42.3 million.

Arsenal have yet to finalize Vieira’s signing, but the deal is expected to be finalized soon.

Vieira is able to play as an attacking midfielder or on the wing, and the 22-year-old would offer Arsenal an extra creative option.

Arsenal are also looking for Leeds winger Raphinha and Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus, while Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez is also under consideration.

The Gunners have already secured the signing of the youngster Marquinhos, while a deal was struck in January to bring goalkeeper Matt Turner to the club.
