Skateboard legend Tony Hawk created some impressive moves at the opening of a new Mexican restaurant in Newport Beach, Calif., on Saturday.
GuacAmigos officially opened with the 50-year-old skateboarding champion wowing crowds with a variety of tricks during a skate-out show on the West Pacific Coast Hwy.
Former Playboy Playmate Nicole Dahm Kelly who was part of the famous Dahm Triplets, has teamed up with the legendary skateboarder to open the restaurant. Kelly is the sister-in-law of Dr. Phil’s son Jay McGraw.
The menu focuses on fresh, local seafood with a spicy twist, and to drink there are hand-crafted margaritas, local beer, and premium-grade tequila.
Pictures of Hawke enjoying some delicious fare were shared on Instagram and he was seen drinking a $20 cocktail called “The Birdman” which is featured on the menu as “Tony’s Choice.”

The Birdman is an old fashioned made with blended Japanese whiskey from Chichibu Ichiro, organic Demarara sugar, and drops of orange and aromatic bitters.
There is also a starter named Hawk – Taquitos De Tony. Flour tortillas are filled with chihuahua cheese, fried crispy and topped with grilled poblano sauce on a bed of lettuce. The chicken tinga costs $13 and the shredded brisket will set you back $16.
Kelly and Hawk have transformed the former Joe’s Crab Shack into a vibrant cantina with modern flair.
Floor-to-ceiling windows overlook sailboats in Newport Harbor, meaning guests can enjoy a drink or meal with a view.

Hawk has brought kinetic energy and esports throughout the space by collecting and displaying cool artifacts including Kelly Slater’s skateboard, Shaun White’s snowboard, Lizzie Armanto’s skateboard, and Mat Hoffman’s BMX bike that was used to break the top air record – along with With historical photos and equipment from Hawke’s career.
Hawk was the first skater ever to land the ‘900’ a trick that involves completing two and a half revolutions in the air on a skateboard in 1999 and has since built a video game empire and appeared in movies and on TV shows.
A silent auction was also held at the opening in favor of the Tony Hawk Foundation.
