Former NFL player Gosder Cherilus arrested for disorderly conduct aboard a flight

Former NFL player Gosder Cherilus was arrested for allegedly causing a disturbance and disorderly conduct during a flight heading back to Boston on Saturday night, according to reports.

Cherilus, a former first-round pick, was arrested after the Delta flight, which was bound for Dublin, Ireland, was diverted back to Logan Airport, Massachusetts State Police said.

The 40-year-old man is said to have urinated on another passenger and disturbed the flight crew, according to Boston News 25.

“Delta Flight 154 from Boston to Dublin on August 17 returned to Boston Logan due to an unruly customer and was intercepted by law enforcement,” a Delta spokesperson said.

Delta has zero tolerance for illegal conduct and will cooperate with law enforcement to do so. We apologize to our customers for the delay in their travel.

The remaining passengers on board the canceled flight were rebooked on a new flight Sunday night, which is scheduled to land in the Irish capital on Monday morning, Delta said.

Cherilus is scheduled to be arraigned in East Boston District Court on Monday.

The former offensive tackle was selected by the Detroit Lions with the 17th overall pick in the 2008 NFL draft after playing college football at Boston College.

Cherilus started 116 of 132 games for the Lions, Indianapolis Colts and Tampa Bay Buccaneers during his NFL career before retiring after the 2016 season.

We will continue to report more.
