Former NBA stars want to see Steph, LeBron and KD unite on Warriors originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area
As unlikely as it may be, there is one Warriors offseason scenario that some fans and former players would love to see happen.
Current players, however, maybe not so much.
this if the first time since 2005 that the second round of the NBA playoffs has not featured Steph Curry, LeBron James or Kevin Durant, with the future of James and Durant up in the air entering an offseason full of question marks.
Which raises the question many have been wondering: Where will the two future Hall of Famers play next season? Former Warriors and Lakers guard Nick Young in the latest episode of VLAD TVsuggested an idea.
“I think all three of them need to come together,” Young said. “That would be nice. I don’t see him (Curry) leaving the Warriors, that’s why it could be (in the Bay Area). But they’re playing together on Team USA this year… One last hurray.”
As Young, Curry, James and Durant mentioned play together on team USA this summer at the 2024 Paris Olympics, and he’s not the only one who wants the three superstars to team up after next season.
About him last episode of “All The Smoke” On the podcast, Hall of Fame forward Kevin Garnett suggested a similar idea, which included veteran guard Chris Paul.
“If I’m Bron, I’m fired up, I’m already on. I’ve got all five lines in front of me,” Garnett added. “I pulled out the phones right here. I’ve got KD on a line, I’ve got CP on a line. I’ve got Steph on a line. And we’re catching up. This is the first time I’ve thought that all the old superstars can really be on a team and go out with a cheer.”
While this scenario may be fun for Warriors fans and NBA pundits, it is highly unlikely given the enormous financial and roster obstacles standing in Golden State’s way. However, a reunion only with Durant could be more realistic.
Regardless, fans can enjoy watching the three play together on Team USA this summer.
