Former MasterChef judge Melissa Leong was left blushing after an “embarrassing” food-related gaffe on air over the weekend.
Melissa’s food faux pas occurred during her appearance on the Channel 10 quiz show Have You Been Paying Attention? on Sunday night.
Panelist Ed Kavalee asked the TV gourmand what her favorite soup was, a seemingly harmless question that left Melissa stumped.
Nervous about being put on the spot, Melissa offered “chicken noodle soup” in response.
Despite chicken noodles being a very popular soup, Melissa has revealed that the dish doesn’t even feature in her top 10.
Her hasty response also sent the star into a spiral of low-key anxiety, making her think about the answer for “days.”
‘It’s not my favorite soup. Why would he say that?’ Melissa said. news.com.au. “That happened on Sunday and I’m still thinking about it.”
Melissa added that her thick slide had made her reflect on some of the best dishes she’d ever had, and none came close to chicken noodles.

The food critic was booted from MasterChef Australia last year amid rumors of a feud between her and fellow judges Andy Allen and the late Jock Zonfrillo, which she has denied.
He then hosted the MasterChef spin-off series Dessert Masters alongside Amaury Guichon.
The former cooking show judge has announced another new job after landing roles in sports reporting, children’s television and the health sector.

It comes after Melissa announced she is making a childhood dream come true by appearing on ABC’s Playschool.
“I grew up watching Playschool,” she recently began in her Instagram caption.

The TV star appeared in new SBS documentary series The Hospital: In The Deep End in June.
