Barwick, a product of St. Albert, Alta., spent the 2023-24 season with the Lions but did not see a game with the team.
Prior to heading to the NCAA, Barwick played parts of four seasons for the Brooks Bandits (AJHL). In 111 career regular season games, he compiled a 98-9-2 record to go along with a 2.08 goals-against average and a .913 save percentage.
His impressive junior career also included winning two AJHL championships with the Bandits (in 2021-22 and 2022-23), AJHL Playoff MVP and being named to the AJHL (South) All-Star Team (both in 2022-23).
Although Barwick has never played for the Lions, he has the chance to be a solid addition to the Wildcats. If he can regain his form quickly, Barwick will be a player not to be reckoned with.
