Mr. Martin was hired as a member of Ms. Wicks’ staff when he was between 24 and 18 years her junior.
It has denied any wrongdoing and will cooperate with an independent inquiry set up to look into the allegation, it said.
“There were heated words during my attempts to go our separate ways that I sincerely regret,” Martin said in a statement.
‘It was an ugly and undignified parting of ways. If I could undo any damage that’s been done I would do it in a heartbeat.
In Ms Wicks’ statement, she alleged that she was “continually exposed to very aggressive barrages of verbal abuse, including threats to destroy my reputation if I spoke”.
“I am beyond distraught that I have had to reveal even a small part of these details. I tried to create a confidential process that would allow for natural justice and give me security as I navigate this process.
“I would appreciate it if the media would respect my privacy at this time.”
