Liam Rosenior is in advanced talks to become head coach of Chelsea’s sister club Strasbourg.
The French side, part of the BlueCo ownership group, are without a manager after Patrick Vieira stepped down after just one season in charge.
And now they have turned their attention to Rosenior, who has been out of work since leaving Hull City in May.
Despite finishing seventh in the Championship with the Yorkshire side, the 39-year-old was sacked by the Tigers three days after the end of the campaign.
Rosenior was nominated for the Championship Manager of the Year award for the 2023-24 season but finished third behind Leeds United boss Daniel Farke and winner Kieran McKenna of Ipswich Town.

Before becoming a manager, Rosenior enjoyed a 16-year career as a full-back, playing for clubs including Bristol City, Fulham, Hull and Brighton and Hove Albion.
He decided to step away from the game while on the south coast in 2018 and went straight into training within Brighton’s academy.
In 2019, Rosenior joined the Derby County backroom staff before being promoted to interim manager in June 2022.
His time in the job was short-lived, as he left in September of the same year, but just two months later he was appointed by Hull as head coach, on a two-and-a-half-year contract.
He left two months ago after Hull finished just three points off the play-off places in the second tier.
Strasbourg finished 13th in Ligue 1 in Vieira’s only season in charge, but two months later he left in a similar fashion to that of Chelsea’s Mauricio Pochettino.
The French club were acquired by BlueCo last year, joining Chelsea in the new multi-club ownership model.
