Former Formula One Star Plans Dream Wedding

Date:

The former Formula 1 driver Marcus Ericsson is not only sporty, but also privately currently on cloud nine. Because, as the ex-F1 driver announced via Instagram, he recently celebrated his engagement to his longtime girlfriend and will accordingly marry in the near future.

While things didn’t exactly go according to plan for Marcus Ericsson during his time in Formula 1 between 2014 and 2018, the Swedish racing driver has been enjoying good results in the IndyCar series for a long time. And things are also going well for the 32-year-old privately. As the former Caterham and Sauber pilot announced via Instagram, he has been engaged for about a week.

Photos show him and his fiancee Iris Tritsaris Jondahl posing in love in nature, while another picture shows the couple’s hands to present the new engagement rings to followers and fans. The posting, which appeared on both Instagram channels, is garnished with the date “April 17, 2023”.

The announcement of the dream wedding, which is likely to be in the near future, was followed by tens of thousands of congratulatory messages and numerous likes from former colleagues, such as ex-Formula 1 colleague Daniel Ricciardo.

When exactly Ericsson and Iris Tritsaris Jondahl will say yes is still open. As usual, that should happen within the next year.

Ex-Formula 1 star: My fiancé is so important as a companion

The Swede and the Greek-born fashion influencer, who now lives in Denmark, have been a couple for more than two years. In January 2021, the two came together, as Ericsson reported to “Aftonbladet” some time ago.

In the process, he also revealed how much it means to him when the 23-year-old accompanies him in his races.

“It’s a sense of security. I can focus on my work, but I also feel good outside of it, and when you feel good personally, that affects work too. It wouldn’t have been possible without her,” said the Swede after winning the Indy 500 in May 2022.

In the current season, Ericsson is on course for the title in the IndyCar Series. In Formula 1, however, the 32-year-old was not very successful. His best result dates back to 2018, when he finished 17th in the drivers’ standings with the Sauber team.
