Christy Carlson Romano has revealed how she ditched Hollywood for Texas in the hopes of giving her children a “slower pace” lifestyle.
The Even Stevens star, 40, and her husband Brendan Rooney moved to Austin, Texas, in 2020, and the former Disney Channel actress is now opening up about why the move was one of the best decisions for her family.
The mother-of-two, who previously campaigned for better working conditions for child actors, currently runs two podcasts and a podcast company with her husband, while also looking after daughters Isabella, seven, and Sofia, five .
Now, Christy has revealed why her move out of the Hollywood Hills felt “perfect” because Texas is much “slower” than California.

Now, she has revealed why her move out of the Hollywood hills felt “perfect” because Texas is much “slower” than California.
Christy sat with People to talk about how she found happiness after settling in Austin.
She revealed that the 2020 move felt “perfect” before confessing that she “loves” her kids being out of Hollywood.
“I love that the girls can be outside of the Hollywood area,” she told the outlet.
And although the actress, who also voiced Kim Possible, enjoyed her time in California, she revealed that she is happy to have settled in Texas.
‘I love California, we have our PodCo offices there. And I also feel really at home in Austin. I have a very strong community of friends there and I really found a way to put down roots,” she added.
The actress noted that she loves that Austin is ‘slower’ than California and noted that it has everything she could need.
“I’m very happy we live there,” he said.
Meanwhile, Christy revealed that her two daughters have become accustomed to fans approaching her and often think of them as her friends.
She revealed that the move in 2020 felt “perfect” before confessing that she “loves” her kids being out of Hollywood.

“And my daughters, I don’t think they’re scared by it because it makes them feel like I’m talking to someone I know,” the former Disney star said.
Christy also talked about how the next generation of moms has a number of growing fears ahead of them.
He noted that parenthood is “scary” and entails “loaded” questions.
Christy added: ‘How am I going to be a mother? How can I afford that? Will I have more than one, if any?
“I have several children and I work, so I always want to make sure they have a very balanced life.”
