Former Chelsea defender Frank Sinclair paid a touching tribute to the late Kevin Campbell by wearing a bow tie.

Campbell passed away on the morning of June 15 at the age of 54, after falling ill and reports earlier this month suggested he had been admitted to hospital.

The news was naturally met with an outpouring of excitement and love for Campbell from his former clubs and close friends in football, namely Ian Wright.

Sinclair, who was also a close friend of Campbell, wore a bow tie for the Carabao Cup first round draw on Sky Sports in honor of the former striker.

Campbell was often seen sporting a bow tie during media appearances for companies such as Sky Sports and Arsenal.

Speaking to Nottingham Sport In 2022, she revealed that she wore it in honor of a friend who passed away suddenly because he was a fan of dickie bows, saying, “So as a sign of respect to Lisa, I often wear the dickie bow and especially on Thursdays.”

Sinclair, after Campbell’s passing was announced, posted on support in times of need. Thank you for all the support you have given me since I was a child on the streets of South London and always said to dream big.’

Mail Sport understands the former striker’s health problems began with a stroke he suffered a few months ago.

Campbell then developed kidney failure and his weight had dropped to nine kilos at the time of his death.

The 54-year-old was trying to stay positive despite his deteriorating health and had messaged his former Arsenal team-mates to tell them he was fine before his untimely passing earlier this month.

After coming through the youth ranks in north London, Campbell made over 200 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners before joining Nottingham Forest in 1995.
