Former TV star Andrew O'Keefe will be back in court after allegedly being caught driving with a suspended license

Disgraced former Channel Seven personality Andrew O’Keefe has had another brush with the law after he was allegedly caught driving with a suspended licence.

The former Deal No or No Deal and The Chase Australia host was allegedly spotted behind the wheel by New South Wales Police highway patrol officers in the upmarket suburb of Bellevue Hill in Sydney’s east on June 20.

O’Keefe, 52, was issued a summons for driving with a suspended license. The Daily Telegraph reported.

The former TV star is due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on 6 August.

The latest charges against O’Keefe come just six months after he was convicted of multiple domestic violence and drug offenses.

The former broadcaster was charged with three sets of charges including assault occasioning actual bodily harm, breaching a domestic violence order and possession of 1.6g of the synthetic stimulant drug mephedrone known as ‘meow meow’ following a violent altercation with a woman in September 2021.

He was sentenced to a 12-month community correction order and three 18-month community correction orders.

Speaking to reporters outside the courthouse, O’Keefe said he intended to appeal the convictions.

He has since filed an appeal in the New South Wales District Court and a hearing is scheduled for July 31.

A year earlier, O’Keefe had pleaded guilty to drug-impaired driving after testing positive for methamphetamine in Point Piper in January 2023, but was given a 12-month probation without conviction order requiring him to maintain good behaviour.

The latest offence is just the latest in a long line of sad scandals for O’Keefe, who was once one of Australia’s most popular television presenters.

The former lawyer was president of White Ribbon Australia, an organisation dedicated to preventing violence against women, and was even made a Member of the Order of Australia for his extensive television and charity work.

O’Keefe has suffered a very public fall from grace in recent years, having spent time in prison and multiple rehabilitation clinics following a series of scandals.
