Former reality star Jordan Finlayson appeared in a Sydney court on Friday for sentencing after pleading guilty to four counts of falsifying medical certificates while on bail.

But her legal representative at Downing Street Center Local Court argued for the charges against the 32-year-old to be dismissed on mental health grounds.

Finlayson, known for her appearance on the 2011 season of Beauty and the Geek before falling from meth-induced disgrace, was convicted late last year of driving under the influence.

Magistrate Brett Shields adjourned the former professional dancer’s matter until the end of May and continued her bail.

It comes after Finlayson was required to report to police three times a week as a condition of his bail.

However, the former NRL cheerleader submitted false medical certificates from several doctors to avoid going to the police station.

On Friday, she wore a black silk blouse and pants with sky-high beige heels as she appeared in court to be sentenced for falsifying documents.

However, his lawyer Ben Wilcox told the court he would ask for the charges to be dismissed on mental health grounds.

He asked for an adjournment to allow him to obtain supporting documentation to allow the application to proceed.

Wilcox said Finlayson had been “quite overwhelmed by the costs” of going to a psychologist to obtain the mental health report needed to dismiss the charges.

He will attend his regular doctor in the coming weeks to obtain a medical report, the court was told.

On at least four occasions, the agreed facts show that she presented the police with certificates indicating that she was unfit to attend the police station on the days on which she was required to report to the police.

The documents were accepted as legitimate until police raided Finlayson’s hotel room months later and found several certificates on the phones.

Police later gained digital access to his phone to determine the authenticity of the certificates.

However, the former Penthouse model provided wrong access codes after claiming she couldn’t remember the PIN.

After Finlayson finally provided the correct code, detectives found several certificates on the phone with different sources.

Doctors and staff named in the documents confirmed they had only provided certificates for some of Finlayson’s absences.
