A former Australian Olympic swimming physiotherapist charged with child sex offenses has taken his case to court.
Peter John Wells was arrested by police in May for child sex offenses stretching from 2002 to 2010.
He was not present at the Brisbane Magistrates Court for the first hearing on Tuesday.

The charges include three charges of indecent treatment of a child under the age of 16.
Wells’ violation allegedly occurred at his physical therapy practice in Kelvin Grove and a sports complex in Chandler.
The court apologized to him for not appearing at the first hearing.
The next hearing for his case will resume at a later date in June.
Wells’ was the physiotherapist for the Australian Olympic swim teams in Beijing, London and the Tokyo Games.
His long career as a physiotherapist included years of working for Swimming Australia.
