A former employee of McDonald’s whose life was transformed when a modeling agency reached her through her direct messages, talked about her journey in an effort to inspire others.
Just over a year ago, Tanya McDonnell, 23, from Washington, Tyne and Wear, worked as a McDonald’s Crew Member in The Galleries, with a salary of around £ 7 per hour.
However, after she was scouted by the J’adore Models agency and signed immediately after a meeting, she now flies all over the world and earns a few thousand pounds a week.
The young model now travels between Dubai, Germany, London and Manchester working for various modeling agencies and posing for famous brands, including Superdrug, Public Desire and Beauty Bay.

The young model worked at the fast food chain with a salary of around £ 7 per hour before being contracted at the modeling agency
While at McDonald’s, Tanya would post photos on Instagram of her vacations and close-ups of her face without filters.
J’adore Models, a Manchester-based agency, then contacted her in her direct messages and they signed her immediately after a meeting.
Now Tanya is also signed with MGM Models in Germany and W Model Management in London and hopes that her story will inspire others to never give up their dreams.
She said: “It completely surprised me. It’s like living in one dream. It is a totally different life than I lived.
Tanya said the offer to start modeling as a professional career was a surprise for her

23-year-old Tanya (left and right) said she hoped her story would help show that “dreams can happen” and that it didn’t matter where you came from
Tanya didn’t think she would be where she is now and said she thought life was much better now
‘I want to let everyone know that everyone can do this. Dreams can happen. I didn’t think this would ever happen, but it did.
‘Don’t think you don’t get what you really want in life. It can come to you if you don’t expect that. It doesn’t matter where you come from or what you do.
“I think life is so much better now. It’s so nice to meet new people. I now have so much more confidence.
The model (pictured at the Jumeirah Al Qasr in Dubai) said she previously thought she was ugly and could never be a model, but now feels better in herself
The 23-year-old would post photos of herself on Instagram before she was scouted by the modeling agency
“When I was a kid, I always looked up at Kate Moss, but I thought it was ugly and that I could never become a model.
‘I feel so much better in myself now. You really never know how other people see you. “
Tanya continues to share photos on Instagram @tanyaslasagne and has started sharing advice on modeling on its YouTube channel of the same name.
