Ford reminds more than 20,000 vehicles of fears that the transmissions could fail
More than 20,000 Ford vehicles have been recalled due to concerns that transmission fluid pump gears could fail while driving.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has launched a recall of Ford Ranger MY2017-2019 and Ford Everest MY2018-2019 vehicles across the country.
“Failure of a transmission fluid pump gear could cause a loss of hydraulic fluid pressure in the transmission, which could lead to a loss of motive power,” the recall explained.
This problem may increase the risk of the driver having an accident and could result in serious injury to the driver or other road users.
The recall concerns 15,924 of the Ranger models with build dates between December 19, 2017 and October 15, 2019.
Ford will contact the owners of all affected vehicles to arrange free inspection and repair
More to come.
