Andrew Johns and Brad Fittler may have to make a quick trip back to school after their surprising lack of knowledge about Easter came to light.

Football great Johns posed an unexpected question during this week’s episode of Freddy and the Eighth ahead of this weekend’s Christian celebration.

‘I’m just thinking, what is biblical about Holy Week? What happened?’

Former NSW Blues coach Fittler chimed in: ‘You don’t eat meat on Sundays. No, meat is not eaten on Fridays.

Joey asked, ‘What happened in Bible times?’

“He died and came back on Monday,” Fittler replied confidently.

“So on Thursday or Friday (he dies) and then he comes back…” Johns began, before Fittler finished his sentence: “He comes back on Monday.”

Mat Thompson, a little bewildered, tried to clarify the situation.

—No, come back on Easter Sunday.

And Johns, apparently unsatisfied with the full breakdown, ended by asking, “So what happened on Monday?”

While Fittler is right that some Christians do not eat meat on Good Friday, it is not mandatory to do so.

However, it is common for Christians to eat fish on Good Friday.

Christ also rose from the dead on the third day, which is Sunday.

“Look at us,” Fittler laughed. ‘How bad are we?’

“You’d have to talk to a reverend,” Thompson said. “But I think that’s the overall story.”
