Harley Reid and childhood sweetheart Yasmin Duursma plan to take their relationship to the next level by making their debut together on the Brownlow Medal red carpet this week.
Rumours about Reid’s relationship with the Carlton AFLW star began circulating in March when the pair were spotted sharing a kiss.
The couple went public with their romance over Easter and Duursma uploaded a racy TikTok of the new couple.
Now Duursma, who was friends with Reid since childhood, has spoken openly about the relationship.
“We met when he was 12 and I was 13 and he and my brother have been friends ever since, as have Harley and I,” she said. News Corporation.
‘So when I got home from Adelaide and it was on the cards, we decided to give it a go and start talking and hanging out.
‘Then he ended up getting drafted to the West Coast and moved, but we thought we’d give it a try and move on.
“It’s not that difficult, they play in Melbourne quite often so I’ve been seeing a lot more of it than I thought I would, it’s been fun.”

The young couple are childhood friends who met through football.
Reid, who played football with Yasmin’s brother, also spoke about the new relationship as the couple prepare to walk the red carpet on Monday night.
“They’re a very talented family and I was lucky enough to play with Zane throughout my youth years and got to know Yas for a while,” he said.
“My first year has been a great opportunity for me and I’m looking forward to continuing to be involved and pushing myself to improve. It will be a good opportunity to experience my first Brownlow with Yas.”
Reid made headlines last year as the No. 1 pick in the AFL draft after being selected as the best young talent in the country by West Coast.
The 18-year-old Victorian midfielder, who hails from Tongala in Victoria’s Goulburn Valley region, is arguably the most highly-touted player in history and is seen by many recruiters as a generational talent.
The teenage sensation has been forced to defend himself throughout the year amid speculation he was less than thrilled about moving across the country.

“It was sometimes quite annoying when they would say it and they didn’t even really know you,” Reid said.
“I have it (the Eagles jersey) now, so hopefully that will get the word out that I’m looking forward to getting out there and practicing.”
He’s prepared for the instant celebrity status that will fall on his young shoulders.
“I guess it’s part of the journey and it’s quite humbling as well, but it’s also motivating to be a superstar and get there and earn the respect of your teammates,” Reid said.
‘There is a great group of young people there with a lot of experience.
“There’s a lot of history behind that club as well, so I’m looking forward to getting in there and hopefully influencing that club and helping it get back to the top.”
West Coast brought cult figure Nic Naitanui to Melbourne to present Reid with his new jumper.
Naitanui handed over the No. 9 jersey, which he and Eagles teammate Ben Cousins both wore during their illustrious careers.
