More than a week after the kissing fight that got tongues wagging at football, Lachie Neale and his wife Jules have made a surprise announcement.
Brisbane superstar Neale was at the center of a saga after sharing a seemingly harmless kiss on the cheek with Channel 7 AFL commentator Abbey Holmes after the Lions played the Bulldogs in round 13 .
Holmes interviewed an exhausted Neale, and they both leaned in to give him a quick kiss on the cheek once the talk was over.
The pair, who are friends off the pitch, have since sparked debate over whether or not the kiss was inappropriate, with some commentators believing it crossed a line.
But Holmes and Neale responded firmly to any criticism at the time, with the presenter revealing that Jules had contacted her to check if she was okay following the outcry on social media.
Jules Neale… sent me a message this morning saying, ‘I hope you’re okay, this is ridiculous,'” Holmes told News Corp.
‘I said, ‘Dude, I know.’ “Lachie is a friend of mine.”
Neale added: “The fact that it was mentioned a week later is a bit strange.” I didn’t really know until the other day. It was kind of a surprise.

And now, with the issue behind them, the Neales have made an exciting announcement, revealing that they are expecting their second child together.
The couple took to social media to share a sweet gender reveal, with their first daughter, Piper, holding an ultra sound.
“And then there were four,” they said.

The couple is expecting a child and the surprising news caused them “the biggest shock of our lives.”
