West Ham’s newest star signing made his debut for the Hammers in their clash with Fulham
Fulham 0-1 West Ham
With debutants Sebastien Haller and Pablo Fornals making their respective bows for West Ham, it was the top flight side who edged to victory against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Lanzini’s superb bending strike dealt the damage for the Hammers, after the Argentine tried his luck from distance on 18 minutes. Haller was presented with two guilt-edged opportunities to net on his debut, but a header from a corner and subsequent follow up were well smothered by Cottagers goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli.
West Ham held out to confirm their win and get the better over Fulham boss, and former Hammers midfielder, Scott Parker.

The hosts were torn apart in their final pre-season fixture, as Andros Townsend and Jeffrey Schlupp netted in the first half to secure the Eagles a comfortable lead at the break.
Roy Hodgson’s side showed no signs of remorse after the restart, with Christian Benteke, Max Meyer and Connor Wickham also hitting the back of the net.

Birmingham 0-4 Brighton
A debut for a three-man defence in Graham Potter’s Brighton side paid dividends, as a formidable showing from the Seagulls saw them smash four past Birmingham City.
The visitors opened the scoring after only eight minutes, when a flowing move culminated in Glenn Murray coolly stroking beyond his former teammate David Stockdale in the Birmingham goal.
Jurgen Locadia rounded off another superb team move, before centre-back Shane Duffy rounded off the scoring with a brace from a duo of set pieces.
