Nick Riewoldt has revealed he and his family will return to Australia from the US after signing with Channel Seven as an AFL pundit for the 2025 season and beyond.
The 41-year-old St Kilda legend left his successful broadcasting career with Fox Sports in 2022 to move his family of five to Houston, Texas, as his wife’s family is from the area.
Football fans have missed Riewoldt’s insight and personality, with the former striker developing strong chemistry with Jonathan Brown, Kath Loughnan and Nathan Buckley.
As a result, speculation has been rife over the Saints great’s return date, and he can now confirm that he will be back on television screens in Australia a few times a week.
“After living in Cath’s hometown of Houston for two years, and working full-time in stadium and event technology with PMY, we are all looking forward to returning to Melbourne and joining the Sevens family,” Riewoldt said ahead of her arrival.

Riewoldt, 41, moved to Houston, Texas, with his three children and wife in 2022.

The big move in the media landscape comes after both Kane Cornes and Caroline Wilson moved from Nine to Seven.
Riewoldt admitted in October that it would be difficult to convince his family to return to Australia, as the quintet loves life in the United States.
“They’ve made it feel very special, they’ve made it feel very, very special,” Riewoldt said, referring to her family’s love for their new home.

Riewoldt made his senior AFL debut in 2001 and played 336 games for St Kilda.
His parents have come from Australia to see their grandchildren for the first time all year.
“They were able to come and see how the kids live and it was a phenomenal year,” Riewoldt said.
“Everyone has integrated really well, the kids have played sports and have adapted to school. They are a bit new to the Australian accent. It’s been great.”
After making his senior AFL debut in 2001, Riewoldt played 336 games for St Kilda before retiring at the end of the 2017 season.
He scored 718 goals and was a five-time All Australian player.
Premiership success eluded Riewoldt with a Sherrin, but he played in the 2009 Grand Final against Geelong, plus both finals in 2010 against Collingwood after the first match at the MCG ended in a draw.
