An old ABC News profile of San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown shows a young Kamala Harris out on the town with her much older lover, being asked questions by reporters.
The 1995 ABC News Primetime Live profile with Dianne Sawyer portrayed Brown as a “rebel” politician, reporting that he is “famous for his extravagant lifestyle, flashy clothes, fancy parties” and “stylish women,” while Harris appears in the footage.
“Are you his daughter?” someone asks Harris in a clip that resurfaced online thanks to End Wokeness on X.

Brown was 60 and Harris was 29 when the couple began dating.
The resurfaced video went viral on social media just hours before Tuesday night’s ABC News debate between Harris and former President Donald Trump.

Wille Brown was California’s most famous politician in the 1990s, running and winning election for mayor of San Francisco in 1995.
Her relationship with Brown sparked talk in San Francisco gossip columns about the possibility of Harris and Brown marrying, but the mayor-elect ended the relationship in December after the election.
Brown continues to speak out about Harris, though he has attempted to distance himself from the mayor since he first ran for political office.
“Willie Brown is not going to be with us. He’s gone. Hey, people, move on,” Harris said emphatically in a magazine profile in 2003, when she was running for San Francisco district attorney.
