Footage of Lionel Messi’s son Mateo scoring five goals for Inter Miami’s under-9 team has gone viral.
The eight-year-old proved he is a cut above his teammates and opponents by scoring a handful of incredible solo goals that his father would be proud of.
Mateo scored his first of the match and is filmed stepping forward to take a free kick with his preferred right foot before firing into the top corner.
The young man then ran out to celebrate and blew a kiss to someone in the crowd, a nice nod to a celebration held earlier by his father.
While the free throw was impressive on its own, this was just the beginning of the match for Mateo.

The youngster picked up the ball on the next half turn, easily beating two of his opponents before finding the same corner he had scored with the free kick.
In the second half, Mateo showed shades of Lionel Messi himself when he collected the ball with his back to goal before a silky turn left his defender.
With time and space he created for himself, Mateo chose his spot and left the goalkeeper standing to score his hat-trick.
Mateo’s fourth goal was as impressive as the rest, as he knocked down a pass with plenty of space before being attacked by defenders.
Killing the ball, the eight-year-old drops his shoulder to move onto his favored right foot from the left side before shooting high and over the goalkeeper’s head.
For his fifth and final goal, the youngster brilliantly collects the ball and shows incredible control before slotting it into the bottom corner.
This might be the most impressive performance by someone his age and you have to feel sorry for the parents of the opposing players.
Messi’s son was simply unstoppable and has shown that he has the ability to follow in his father’s footsteps after an incredible performance with the Inter Miami youth team.
