Foodies have continued to salivate over an epic toasted sandwich full of truffles, claiming that the massive $25 price tag is worth it for the rich treat.
The limited edition truffle toastie is a social media hit with influencers barging into Ripe Cheese at Melbourne’s Queen Victoria Market to try the sandwich and add the delicious creation to their feeds.
A woman who posts under to wash up was excited to be able to try the decadent toasted sandwich before the city re-locked.

“$25.00 is a bit much for a sandwich and I probably wouldn’t buy it again, but I recommend grabbing one before truffle season is over just for the experience,” she said.
The sandwich is filled with gooey melted cheese and truffle pieces, the bread is toasted until golden brown, then the truffle is shaved on top to finish the sumptuous lunchtime meal.
The young foodie’s fans were torn between the price and how good the toastie looked in the video.

“Looks so addictive but very expensive,” said one woman, adding love heart emojis to her comment.
But others were sold to try the treat before the end of the truffle season.
The young woman’s video quickly went viral and has been viewed more than 18k times.
The Ripe Cheese team is thrilled with the attention the show-stopping toastie has been getting, saying that pre-ordering is best as they sell out very quickly.
A foodie, who posts under dishh.out, was excited to be able to try the decadent toasted sandwich before the town recently went into lockdown.
“Here’s a reminder of what’s in our toastie, mozzarella, vintage cheddar with black honey truffle, and fresh truffles amid buttered sourdough.
“It’s topped off with a pinch of truffle salt and about 12 ounces of freshly shaved Australian truffles,” they posted with a photo of the sandwich.
The cheese shop now offers home delivery for all of their products.
