The beta includes two game modes: Smash the Star and Happy Bath Survival.
crush the star
This is a team deathmatch mode where, once enough takedowns have been made, one player from the opposing team becomes the star player. Your team has to eliminate this player in the allotted time to win the match… but be careful, because your opponents will try to do the same with your star player.
Happy survival in the bathroom
Happy Bath Survival is an intense melee deathmatch where the arena is divided into an outer and inner ring. Players in the inner ring try to eliminate each other, while players in the outer ring must use their foam-spewing weapons and abilities to help and hinder the combatants. It’s chaotic fun, where working together makes a real difference.
There are eight characters available to play in the open beta. Each of these Foamstars has unique weapons, abilities, and a super star ability. You can mix and match characters between rounds or stick with one that suits your play style; It depends completely on you.
Allow us to introduce you to the peculiar cast:
- soa – a graceful idol who has mastered the art of acrobatic bubble control.
- Jet Justice – a self-proclaimed hero who prowls the streets of Bath Vegas to keep them safe.
- tonix – a genius inventor who brims with curiosity and is eager to test her inventions on the battlefield.
- ΔGito – a professional gamer who continues to dominate the world of esports and now wants to demonstrate his ability in other fields.
- gwyn pen – a penguin soldier who is willing to chill anyone who gets in the way of his fight against global warming.
- Melt – the owner and face of an ice cream brand. She may seem innocent and cute, but this CEO packs a punch.
- The barista – a refined gentleman full of mystery. Some may find it hard to believe that he is the modest owner of a coffee shop.
- rave breaker – a clean freak who wants to eliminate all the party animals and clean up the competition.
The best way to learn how to play Foamstars is to just do it: choose a character and experiment with the different skills and game modes to find what you like! However, to help you get started, we have some basic tips:
Slide towards enemies to eliminate them.
Remember that foaming at your enemies is not enough. Once a player has foam, you (or a teammate) must slide towards him to knock him out. You can only glide quickly on your own team’s foam (your opponent’s will slow you down), so try creating paths and paths to ensure you have a route to your goal.
Protect your teammates
If you see that a teammate is foaming (he will be calling for help), sliding towards him will release him, thus depriving your opponent of a takedown. As satisfying as it is to defeat a rival, it’s even more fun to undermine their hard work!
Avoid and replace enemy foam.
If you stand on an opposing team’s foam, your movement will slow down drastically. Not only does this make you an easy pick for your rivals, but it also feels terribly sticky, so you’ll want to avoid it.
You can try to avoid the enemy foam or fire your own weapon to replace it. Either way, stay in your own bubbles as much as possible.
Use foam to block enemies and find advantageous angles.
The more foam you spray, the more it will build up. You can create foam walls and bases which can be very useful.
For example, building a wall can block enemy access and force them to find alternative routes to their objectives and protect their teammates. Or you can use foam to climb high, giving you a wider view of the arena and the opportunity to take out enemies from above.
Work with your team and you’ll discover all kinds of amazing ways to use foam to your advantage…
Use your skills
Each character has a set of unique abilities, which are activated with the shoulder buttons and a Super Star ability that can be unleashed with a triangle. These can range from explosive foam grenades to faster traversal methods.
Skills can be game-changing and recharge over time, so don’t feel the need to hold them back. Remember: they exist to be used!
We hope you enjoy playing Foamstars and remember: the open beta is just a taste of what awaits you in the full game launching in early 2024.
For now, we can’t wait to see you in Bath Vegas for the Open Beta Party.
