This horrifying video shows the injuries an Iranian woman suffered after guards brutally whipped her more than 70 times when she refused to comply with the country’s strict Islamic dress code laws.
The heartbreaking clip, which was shared on X by Iranian journalist and activist Masih Alinejad, shows an anonymous woman from Tehran in her underwear showing her wounds.
The images show how the woman’s entire back is bruised, as well as the upper part of the back of her thighs.
Shadowy purplish-red markings can also be seen on its chest.
According to Alinejad, the clip was sent to her personally by the woman, who said she was arrested after refusing to wear a hijab.
After several months of court hearings, the woman was sentenced to 74 lashes, which caused her serious injuries shown in the video.

“As the regime prepares to enforce (the) Hijab bill, remember: gender apartheid in Iran is systemic slavery.”

In a separate post, Alinejad shared an image of the same woman’s bruised back while holding a sign with the slogan: “Woman, life, freedom.”
Alinejad captioned the post: ‘This is the brutal reality of life for women under the Islamic Republic in Iran. A woman in Tehran sent me this photo of her scarred back, whipped for the “crime” of showing her hair. However, she refuses to remain silent.
‘Holding a slogan Woman, Life, Freedom, he took this photo as a powerful act of defiance declaring: “The moral police arrested me for resisting their van. My ‘crime’ was revealing. After months of court hearings, I was sentenced to 74 lashes. The cleric overseeing the punishment remained there to ensure it was carried out. “I will not abandon my fight against this brutal regime, but we are tired of living as prisoners in our own homeland.”
‘Their scars tell the story of oppression, but their courage speaks of a revolution.
“This is a barbaric law, this is terrorism.”
It comes after a 16-year-old girl tragically took her life in Iran last month after her school threatened her with expulsion after she was filmed dancing without a hijab.
An image of Arezoo Khavari’s final moments, showing her balancing on the edge of a building, circulated on X after her death, with several social media users condemning Iran’s strict dress code laws.
The teenager’s tragic death and the circumstances surrounding it came just days after an Iranian woman who stripped to her underwear in protest of hijab laws was arrested.
It comes after 16-year-old Arezoo Khavari’ tragically took her own life in Iran after she was sent home from a school trip for not wearing a hijab.
An unidentified student was arrested Saturday in Iran after she was seen walking around the campus of the science and research branch of Tehran’s Islamic Azad University in her underwear.
The student reportedly suffered serious injuries following the attack during her arrest.

He later died in hospital after falling into a coma.
