The popular Sydney burger franchise is collapsing after running up thousands of dollars in debt

A burger chain franchise has collapsed after running up tens of thousands of dollars in debt.

Bass Hill Burger Pty Ltd, trading as Flip Burger Bass Hill, in southwest Sydney went bankrupt last month.

The restaurant reportedly owed $24,000 in electric bills and the case went to court when the company was unable to settle the debt with their energy supplier.

Flipp Burgers has restaurants in the north and west of Sydney, and the Bass Hill store is still on the website.

The franchise had been operating since October 2019 and was ordered into compulsory winding up by the Victorian Supreme Court.
