Flight Centre and Dell end WFH as companies order workers back into the office

Two other major Australian companies have ended work-from-home privileges for their staff, joining a growing list of employers who want their staff to return to the office.

Flight Center and Dell recently ordered staff back, and Dell gave staff just four days’ notice that flexible work arrangements were ending.

Dell’s memo was sent on September 26 and employees were expected to return to working five days in the office starting September 30. Reuters reported.

Dell Technologies, which has about 1,500 Australian workers, had been operating under a three-day-a-week rule before its sudden shift to five days in the office.

Dell’s memo said the change was to help the collaborative environment and “grow skills,” which requires employees to return to the office.

“Working remotely should be the exception and not the routine,” he said.
