A former flight attendant who worked for Emirates for 10 years has lifted the lid on where extra toilet paper is secretly stored on a plane.

Veronica Pereyra, a digital nomad currently living in Colombia, is known as @amindfulnomad on TikTok, where she shares tips about traveling and working remotely.

She went viral after sharing a video of herself grabbing an extra roll of toilet paper in the bathroom during a flight to Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

“I switched the roll in the airplane toilet because I was a flight attendant and I know where to find them,” she wrote in the text on the screen.

The footage showed her opening the mirror cabinet above the sink by pressing a hidden button underneath.

She turned the camera to show the piles of toilet paper, paper cups, towels and tissues in the closet.

Pereyra encouraged others to stock up when they notice the bathroom is running low on paper products.

“Help your cabin crew, now you know,” she wrote in the caption.

Speak with Newsweek about the viral video, she explained that “every restroom and every plane is different,” so the products can be stored elsewhere if there is no mirror cabinet.

Pereyra noted that Emirates does not encourage passengers to access the hidden storage compartments in aircraft bathrooms because the company prides itself on hospitality.

However, she added that it’s always good to know where extra supplies are kept, in case you “run out of toilet paper there.”

Pereyra’s video has been viewed 4.8 million times and received almost 300 comments since it was posted last month.

Many people were impressed by the hidden compartment and thanked her for sharing the airline’s secret.

“Thank you,” one fan wrote. “I was always afraid I would run out of toilet paper on a plane.”

‘Thank you!’ someone else gushed. “I saw someone else post where Target self-checkout keeps extra bags. A week later I had to take something out.’

‘I’m too scared to press or open anything on an airplane. I’m paranoid if I’ll open or alert anyone,” another admitted.

‘Yes! We have to help the workers. It’s a small gesture, but it lightens their workload (and makes our lives easier too),” Pereyra replied.

However, one TikTok user noted that helping the flight crew by helping yourself to toilet paper could backfire.

“I did this and broke the glass…I lost $7,000,” the person claimed.

“Wait, how did you break the glass? I need the tea,” Pereyra asked, but the stranger never responded.
