Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham Seeks Long-Term Restraining Order Against Alleged Stalker

Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham is seeking a long-term restraining order against an alleged harasser.

In contact reports that Buckingham is seeking court-ordered long-term protection against a woman named Michelle, 53, who he claims has been stalking and harassing him and his family for three years. A temporary restraining order has already been granted against her.

Buckingham claimed police were sent to his home after receiving a 911 call informing them that his son William wanted to harm himself. The caller also claimed he heard gunshots.

Police handcuffed Buckingham before discovering that the allegations made in the 911 call were “fictitious.” The musician says the number that contacted emergency services was traced to Michelle’s phone.

Detailing the incident, which occurred on November 3, Buckingham says he was sleeping at home when “almost a dozen police officers” woke him up.

‘When I opened the door, they handcuffed me and asked me to leave my house. The reason given was that a 911 call had been received indicating that my son William was at my house and (wanting to hurt himself) and that the caller had heard a gunshot,’ he described.

“After about twenty minutes of the police searching my house and me outside in the cold, handcuffed, they let me into my house, shocked and afraid,” he explained.

Police released him from the handcuffs once they realized the claims made in the 911 call were false.

“I now know that the 911 call was traced to (Michelle’s) phone and was the latest in a relentless pattern of harassment and threatening acts against my family and me,” he continued.

The Nov. 3 incident occurred after police warned Michelle to stay away from Buckingham’s home after she showed up on Sept. 19.

Michelle must now stay 100 yards from Lindsey, his wife Kristen Messner and their son William Buckingham, according to the temporary restraining order.

The order will remain in effect until a hearing scheduled for later this month. At the hearing, Buckingham will be able to defend a permanent restraining order.

Lindsey alleges that problems with Michelle began after she obtained his wife’s cell phone number and proceeded to call him dozens of times a day.

Lindsey alleges that Michelle occasionally left “long messages that included claims that she was my daughter and threats to kill me and my family.”

Lindsey said Kristen also “blamed me for the facial deformities she apparently suffered as a child and demanded money from me.”

“I don’t know (Michelle) and I’m not her father,” he said.
