A Navy small craft crashed off the California coast before dawn on Friday, injuring five sailors with a naval special warfare unit.
The ship struck the Zuniga Point pier as it entered San Diego Bay around 1:50 a.m., Naval Special Warfare spokesman Lt. Cmdr. said Chelsea K. Irish.
None of the injuries were life-threatening. Three of the sailors have since been released from hospital and two others are in stable condition, Irish said.
The sailors are part of a naval special warfare unit based on the west coast and were taking part in a routine training exercise, Irish said.
The Navy is investigating the cause.

San Diego man whose live feed captured two US Navy ships nearly colliding in local harbor has been ordered by military branch to remove cameras
Last month, a San Diego man livestreamed the moment two US Navy ships nearly collided in the local harbor.
Barry Bahrami was ordered by the military branch to remove the cameras and says the Navy Criminal Investigative Service and the National Park Service told him he couldn’t have a live stream because it showed military activity in the region.
The man told a local San Diego outlet that his band had been touring for a decade, but only received the order after the near miss was captured.
“We were there for 10 years and then to suddenly find a reason to knock them out, it’s just bologna, I don’t think anyone believes it,” Bahrami said. Fox 5.
“Now we have government censorship just out of spite because we showed something they didn’t like,” Bahrami said.

Barry Bahrami says the Navy Criminal Investigative Service and the National Park Service told him they couldn’t have a live stream because it showed military activity in the area.
Bahrami runs a group called San Diego Web Cam which provides live streams in the San Diego area.
In November, one of Bahrami’s cameras captured two Navy ships in San Diego Bay that nearly collided in a “Warship Chicken” incident.
After the video gained attention online, the National Park Service contacted him at the request of the Navy, ordering him to remove the cameras.
The cameras were positioned at the Cabrillo National Monument in Point Loma.
While government organizations say they simply don’t want him filming potential military activity, Bahrami raises questions.
He asks why his cameras were removed after a decade in the area and calls the order an act of “censorship”.
A legal analyst who spoke to Fox San Diego said the case was special because of the length of time the cameras were on and the public interest.
“One thing that stands out about this cam company is that they’ve been very careful not to film anything that could cause privacy issues,” said Wendy Patrick.

“It also feeds into the discussion about why they want to know exactly why this request was made to remove these cameras,” Patrick continued.
The cameras were ordered to be removed just days after the incident was filmed and public interest only skyrocketed.
The man says his cameras are not a threat and are just there to connect San Diego residents to their city.
The legal analyst agreed, but noted their location as a potential issue.
“The cameras are taken down on private property and the footage is something that has a lot of views that people are very interested in,” Patrick said.
“There are people who have relied on these webcams to watch their loved ones come and go,” she continued.
In conversation with the San Diego outlet, the camera owner said he plans to install two new cameras to replace the ones that were removed.
He also said he is developing an app that will allow anyone to install a webcam in the city.

“There are people who have relied on these webcams to watch their loved ones come and go,” legal analyst Wendy Patrick said.
In a statement to DailyMail.com, NCIS officials responded by saying:
“NCIS recently raised Force Protection concerns with the National Park Service regarding private webcams.
“We look forward to continued close coordination with NPS.
‘The Private Webcams and YouTube channel provided 24-hour webcam surveillance of ships and actions aboard Naval Air Station North Island, including aircraft hangars and flight lines, assets under -Sailors from Naval Base Point Loma and tracking military personnel working aboard Naval Base Coronado. .’
