A five-month-old baby died after being allegedly raped by her 30-year-old cousin in India.
The girl’s parents had enjoyed the wedding of a family member in the northeastern town of Daudnager on Sunday evening, when the cousin asked his aunt – the mother of the baby – if he could take her daughter to play with.
Two hours later, a search party found the young girl lying unconscious on the lawn of the wedding venue – the accused sex attacker next to her.

The suspected child rapist, by the Times of India, fled but was arrested the next day.
Doctors in a trauma center stated that the girl had been brought in dead before the desperate father formally reported his cousin who had raped and killed his daughter.
The cousin had approached the mother of the baby, who rocked the girl on her lap around 7 pm on the night of the Madiaon wedding.
The mother agreed, but a sense of panic began to invade when there was no sign of the couple at 9 p.m.
A search was launched and villagers took part in the manhunt – which ended with the grim discovery of the motionless baby.
Sarvashresth Tripathi, Deputy Police Commissioner, said the father had filed a murder, rape, and kidnapping case to kill
While the villagers were crying that they had found the girl, her parents rushed to the site before identifying them as their children and ran to the outpatient hospital Vivekananda, which referred her to the KGMU trauma center where she was declared dead.
In the gruesome frenzy at the wedding, the cousin escaped but was held by the police the next day.
Sarvashresth Tripathi, deputy police commissioner, said the father had filed a case of murder, rape, and kidnapping, according to the Times.
An autopsy will determine if the baby has been raped, officials said.
